Ultra-sensitive bio-sensor detecting disease in its prenatal stage

Imperial College London and Spain University of Vigo Scientist developed a ultra-sensitive bio-sensor which are able to detect diseases in earliest stages. Scientist claims that their bio-sensor test can detect bio-markers at concentration level.

The new biosensor consists of nanoscopic-sized gold stars suspended in a solution containing blood-derived proteins. Antibodies, which latch onto a biomarker when it is detected in a sample, are attached to the surface of the nanostars. In their study, the researchers used an antibody that latches onto Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), a biomarker associated with prostate cancer. A secondary antibody, which has an enzyme called glucose oxidase attached to it, creates a distinctive silver crystal coating on the gold stars that can be detected through an optical microscope, thus signaling that PSA is present.

The researchers next plan to conduct further clinical testing to examine the potential of the new biomarker in detecting different biomarkers associated with HIV and other infections.

Mobile loaded with printer

After investing 10 years and $10 million, Breton and his team made a great invention by making world's smallest printer. This is small enough that possibly it could be merged to the mobile phones in future.

This printer is an idea for Europe's biggest rubber stamp company, and it is known as PrintBrush. PrintBrush has laser technology and has combination to reproduce 16 million color shades instantly. PrintBrush is 8.8-ounce handheld gadget that uses inkjets, computer-mouse-like optics and navigation software to print uploaded images and text on any flat surface, including paper, plastic, wood and even fabric.

Popsci explains How It Works

"As the user slides the printbrush across a sheet of paper, optical sensors track the velocity and direction of the printer relative to the page. a controller matches the location coordinates to a pixel map of the document or image and runs algorithms to predict which pixel to print next."

Anti viruses in human body

We humans are coping with various diseases from years. Diseases takes millions life every year. We often fail to detect the viruses in body and if we find, it becomes too late.I always believe that we humans have much more capabilities than we think. The time has come when we challenge these diseases and kill them before the raise their head.

In future with the help of nanotechnology, scientist will invent a nano soldier of very minute size. The soldier will be not less than a doctor. The group of these soldiers will enter into our body and scattered throughly with the blood.

They check the body functionality and illness and send the data to the device outside or may be to your mobile phone. They also detect if there is any infection in the blood or any alien is taking birth into the body.
These soldiers stays in the body as long as they are alive and functional. As they will discharged and died, they will comeout through the way of urine or stool.

Your success or failure was preplanned

Why do some people are very enthusiastic and never give up. Why they seems confident all the time and success comes to them like beggar. Scientist has come out with a surprising theory which claims that some people are born to be success in life.

Our behave, our nature, our vision and even our sociability are already defined somewhere in our DNA structure.

Edinburgh University research on more than 800 pairs to twins about their attitude to life and tease apart the influence of nature and nurture. The result was surprising that twins grown up in same environment and share similar DNA are alike as compared to twins grown up in same environment but doesn't share same DNA. It means that our DNA play very significant role in our personality and our vision towards our life.

Electric Viruses

Nanotechnology is on rise. This time scientists are coming with a nano generator. The Scientists from the U.S. Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory claims to generate electricity from viruses. They have developed a small generator which has enough power to operate a tiny devices.

How the device and viruses generate electricity

The device has very thin layer loaded with M13 viruses. As we put the pressure on the layer by finger tapping or putting the device in shoes, the viruses will change our mechanical work into electricity. The Viruses are harmeless and they manufacture themselves, which means has no loss and no cost.

"More research is needed, but our work is a promising first step toward the development of personal power generators, actuators for use in nano-devices, and other devices based on viral electronics," says Seung-Wuk Lee, a faculty scientist in Berkeley Lab's Physical Biosciences Division and a UC Berkeley associate professor of bioengineering.

Talking Cars

According to the national highway traffic safety administration estimation, 24,050 people were killed in road accidents between January to September 2011. The number of injured and losing limbs are higher. Now, our car manufacturers have invented a technology which can avoid these accidents and can save lifes called V2V and V2I.

What is V2V and V2I

V2V(Vehicle to Vehicle) and V2I(Vehicle to Infrastructure) is a new emerging concept. It can enable our vehicles to communicate with each other and also with the things around it, even the road. By communicating with the other vehicles and other objects around, the car can alert the driver about the danger. It can calculate the distance between your car and other car. As the car will approach very close to the another one, it will alert the driver and can also stop the car automatically. The object is in research in nowadays.

How V2V and V2I works

V2V and V2I communicate with wireless technology. It uses network protocols to communicate. A sensor device is installed in the vehicles and infrastructure(road, building etc). It uses Dedicated Short Range Communication(DSRC) devices. DSRC works in 5.9 GHz band with bandwidth of 75 MHz and approximate range of 1000m. Sensor device gather the information about traffice, weather and nearby devices. It gives alert signal to the driver when vehicle tends to collide somewhere and gives driver enough time to react and avoid the accident.

V2V enabled Cars

General Motors are active in development of V2V technology. They demonstrated the system in 2006 using Cadillac vehicles. Other automakers are also working on V2V include BMW, Honda, Audi and Volvo.
